The Policy provides coverage for unforeseen and abrupt occurrences such as sudden breakdown or damage to piping, leaks from sanitary fixtures and fittings, as well as fixed water installations within your home. Additionally, coverage extends to the complete failure of the electrical supply resulting from faults or damage to the internal electrical installations.
Furthermore, the policy covers situations where your home becomes insecure, entry is embedded due to key loss, theft of keys, or damage to locks resulting from theft or any accidental cause. Also, another coverage is a scenario where a family member of your household locks themselves in a room. Lastly, breakage of glazing to external windows or doors that renders your home insecure is included in the coverage. Finally, damage to the glazing of external windows or doors which results in your home being rendered insecure, is also covered by the policy.
Recommendations.
We advise the policyholder to carefully consider certain key aspects both before and after procuring the insurance in order to fully avail themselves of all the policy’s guarantees.
- In the event of a circumstance or occurrence that may lead to a claim, your legal representatives must promptly inform us, ideally as soon as possible but under no circumstances later than 60 days, providing all available information.
- Immediate notification to the police is required in the case of any property that is lost, stolen, or intentionally damaged. It is also imperative to report any lost or stolen credit and debit cards to the authorities.
- In the event of receiving any writ, summons, or other legal documents pertaining to a claim or legal liability arising from injury or damage, you are obligated to promptly forward such documents to us without delay and without responding.
- Without our written permission, you are not permitted to admit, reject, or negotiate any claim with any other party.
- If you have agreed to sell your home, the buyer will be entitled to the coverage for building damage and loss up to the completion date of the contract or the expiration date of the current insurance period, whichever comes first, provided the building is not insured by or on their behalf.
Loss or damage caused, allowed to happen, ignored, or not reported to the authorities by you will not be covered or compensated by us.
- Emergency repair services, including necessary visits and labour, are covered up to the specified limit in the policy wording. Any amount exceeding this limit is your responsibility unless such repairs qualify as an insurable loss under another coverage in the policy. Costs for materials or spare parts are not covered. A maximum of three interventions per year can be claimed, depending on the type of benefit utilized. If your home remains unoccupied or unfurnished for more than 90 consecutive days before the occurrence of loss or damage to valuables, the policy will not cover the associated costs.
- No repairs should be arranged without notifying Middlesea Assist Ltd. and obtaining authorization for such maintenance.
